Which fields are confidential
The following fields on Individual records are always treated as confidential:
Unique Identifier 1
Unique Identifier 2
Date of Birth
How confidential fields appear
For users without Confidential Fields access, these field values are replaced with a lock icon and the word Confidential on the Individual record. The actual value is not visible anywhere in the interface.
Granting Confidential Fields access
1. Go to Admin > Users & Security > Users.
2. Find the user and select Edit.
3. Open the Basic Access tab.
4. Set Entity Access to Edit or View.
5. Under Confidential Access, tick Confidential Fields.
6. Select Save. Changes take effect immediately.
Note: Confidential Fields and Confidential Documents are independent permissions. Granting one does not automatically grant the other.
Revoking access
To remove Confidential Fields access from a user, follow the same steps and untick Confidential Fields, then select Save.
Confidential Documents
Documents on entity and individual records can also be marked as confidential using the Mark as Confidential option in the document manager. This is managed separately from Confidential Fields. See Documents in Entity Management and Entity Management Permissions for details.
