About AutoDocs
AutoDocs allows users to:
- Upload your document template in Xakia
- Have your business users complete a legal intake form which will populate into your standard
- Choose the document type to be generated – Word, PDF or both
- Send straight to the requester (no-touch from legal and document gets completed automatically) or send to the legal team as an intake request
Each document template is linked to an intake request form. Once the form is completed, AutoDocs creates a completed, formatted document in seconds.

AutoDocs use cases
AutoDocs is designed to be a straightforward document assembly tool that saves Xakia users time and optimizes workflows by:
- Prepopulating fields into legal documents based on responses provided by an internal client, saving the Legal Department time and minimizing rekeying of basic information
- Allowing no-touch, self-serve solutions for simple, low risk documentation.
Examples of common documents that may be suitable for automation using AutoDocs include:
- Non-disclosure agreements
- Simple letters
- Renewals documents
- Orders
AutoDocs limits
Reflecting its design, AutoDocs is not intended as a full-scale document automation tool and as such, can only be used to fully automate relatively simple documents where all the variables necessary to complete the document can be gathered from a single respondent in one intake form. Accordingly, AutoDocs is not suitable for the automation of documents that require input from multiple respondents or where the variables necessary to complete the document cannot be answered by the internal client using the intake request.
AutoDocs can however be used to prepopulate those aspects of more complicated documents with answers provided by an internal client and deliver that document to the Legal Department for it to finalize, improving workflows and saving time.

Note: this video suggests you refine some legal request fields down to only 1 option and then deactivate them to simplify the legal request for the internal client. However, deactivating an item on the legal request will prevent it from being populated in the legal request received by the Legal Department. Accordingly it is recommended that if you are able to refine a field down to a single option in a legal request, you leave it active.
