Xakia offers a range of language options for your team's translation needs.

Language options available in Xakia
The following language options are available:
- Danish
- Dutch
- French
- Japanese
- Portuguese
- Spanish
Default language
A default language is selected at the time of registering a new platform in Xakia, or creating a new Location. This default language cannot be changed and will determine the language used in your data analytics.
Setting up additional languages
If your users need more than one language available, this is possible by following the steps below:
- Click on 'Admin' in the top navigation menu
- Click on 'General Settings' in the left hand menu
- Click on the 'Features' tab
- Scroll down to the 'General Settings' section and under 'More Languages', check the boxes of languages you would like to activate
Once a language has been activated, the following changes should be made to metadata options:
Divisions
- Each Division and Sub-Division will display an input for the languages that have been activated
- Where these are not completed in the Admin area, the default language will display to users
Categories
- Each custom Category and Sub-Category will display an input for the languages that have been activated
- Where these are not completed in the Admin area, the default language will display to users
- Default Categories and Sub-Categories will automatically translate
Individual users: selecting your preferred language
Each user can then select his or her own language by following these steps:
- Click your name in the top right hand corner of the screen
- Select 'Profile & Preferences'
- Select your preferred language under 'My Language'
- Click 'save'
Xakia will now display in the language selected according to a user's preference.
Note: Information entered by users (eg. matter names and descriptions) will be displayed in the language in which they have been entered.
