Xakia gives you the capacity to note where your team is being supported on any matters by External Resources - for example, consultancy firms or external legal counsel.

Adding an External Resource to your matter:
You can add external resources within a matter form by utilizing the 'Resourcing' field, which includes an external component - either 'Internal & External' or 'External'. When this selection is made, the 'External Resources' tab will display on the matter form.
To add an External Resource:
Choose a relevant option under the 'Who is doing the work?' section of your Matter screen
Click 'Add' next to 'Entities/Parties', and type the name of the relevant external resource (e.g. legal or consultancy firm) into the slide-out panel, before clicking 'Save'
In some cases, you might find that your desired external resource does not appear in the pre-available list of entities. If this occurs, follow these steps:
Adding an External Resource to your database:
External Resources must be contained within your Xakia database before being added to your matters. This will already be the case in the majority of circumstances, but on occasion you will need to add a new resource to the database.
You can add a resource by doing the following:
Open the Xakia Chat-Bot in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen
Select 'Send us a message', and then 'I want to add an external firm'
Provide the information as requested by the Chat-Bot's prompts
Your Xakia's Location's administrator can add an External Resource by following these steps:
Click 'Admin' in the top navigation menu
Click 'External Resources' in the settings bar, which is found at the left-hand side of the 'Admin Settings' screen
Click the 'Add New' button, which is found towards the right hand-side of the screen
Provide the information as requested in the pop-up window
Click 'Save'
You will now be able to return to your matter and add the external resource following the steps detailed above.
Note: If your desired External Resource is missing from Xakia's list, please speak to our support via the Chat-Bot and we will assist you in adding it to our database.
