Add the Xakia MCP Connector to Microsoft Copilot Studio

Once the connector is added, your agent can answer questions about your matters, contracts, key dates, documents and Playbooks from your own Xakia data.

Before you start

  • Your location is on the Xakia All-In plan.

  • An Administrator has switched on AI Enabled and MCP Enabled in Admin › AI Settings, and you’re included in Who can access MCP. Read Turn On the Xakia MCP Connector in AI Settings.

  • You have an active Xakia account in that location.

  • You can edit the agent in Microsoft Copilot Studio.

  • Your Power Platform data policies allow custom connectors. If they don’t, ask your Power Platform administrator.

Find your region’s connector URL

We run a separate connector for each data region. Use the one for the region where your organization’s Xakia data is hosted. If you’re not sure which that is, ask your Xakia Administrator or Customer Success Manager.

Each connector works with one region. If your organization has Xakia locations in more than one region, add a connector for each one and name each by region, for example Xakia (United States).

Add the connector to your agent

  1. Open your agent’s tools. In Copilot Studio, open your agent and go to Tools.

  2. Add an MCP tool. Select Add a tool, then New tool, then Model Context Protocol.

  3. Enter the details. Type a Server name, such as Xakia (United States), and a short Server description, such as “Read-only access to our legal matters, contracts and key dates in Xakia”. Paste your region’s connector URL into Server URL.

  4. Choose authentication. Select OAuth 2.0, then Dynamic discovery, then Create.

  5. Connect. Select Next, then Create a new connection, and sign in to Xakia when asked.

Add to agent. Select Add to agent.

Choose Dynamic discovery. Don’t choose Manual, which needs a client secret that only we hold.

Sign in and allow access

Everyone connects with their own Xakia account, even when someone else added the connector for them.

  1. Sign in. Use your usual Xakia credentials, including Single Sign-On (SSO) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) if your organization uses them.

  2. Check the consent screen. Make sure you’re signed in as the right user. Leave Grant offline agent access ticked if you want to stay connected between sessions or use scheduled tasks.

  3. Allow access. Click Yes, Allow.

Each person who uses the agent signs in the first time it calls Xakia, and Copilot Studio usually shows the consent screen only then. Read Offline Access in the Xakia MCP Connector to see how offline access works.

What you’ll see

The connector shows as connected on your agent’s Tools page. You only see information you can already see in Xakia, and the connector is read-only, so it can’t create, change or delete anything.

Read the Xakia MCP Connector privacy notice to see how your data is handled.
