Before you start
Your location is on the Xakia All-In plan.
An Administrator has switched on AI Enabled and MCP Enabled in Admin › AI Settings, and you’re included in Who can access MCP. Read Turn On the Xakia MCP Connector in AI Settings.
You have an active Xakia account in that location.
You meet Google’s current requirements for custom apps. You’re 18 or over and in the US, you’re signed in to Gemini with a personal Google Account, and Keep Activity is on.
Google doesn’t yet let work or school Google Accounts add custom apps. You can only add them in the Gemini web app, but once added they work in the Gemini mobile app too.
Find your region’s connector URL
We run a separate connector for each data region. Use the one for the region where your organization’s Xakia data is hosted. If you’re not sure which that is, ask your Xakia Administrator or Customer Success Manager.
Region | Connector URL |
Australia | |
Canada | |
United Kingdom | |
Netherlands | |
United States |
Each connector works with one region. If your organization has Xakia locations in more than one region, add a connector for each one and name each by region, for example Xakia (United States).
Add the connector
Open Connected Apps. Go to gemini.google.com and click Settings › Connected Apps. If you don’t see it, click Personal Intelligence › Connected Apps.
Add a custom app. Under Custom apps, click Add a custom app.
Enter the URL. Paste your region’s connector URL and leave Advanced features blank. Gemini registers itself with us.
Continue. Click Next and sign in to Xakia when asked.
Sign in and allow access
Everyone connects with their own Xakia account, even when someone else added the connector for them.
Sign in. Use your usual Xakia credentials, including Single Sign-On (SSO) or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) if your organization uses them.
Check the consent screen. Make sure you’re signed in as the right user. Leave Grant offline agent access ticked if you want to stay connected between sessions or use scheduled tasks.
Allow access. Click Yes, Allow.
Gemini usually shows the consent screen only the first time you connect. Read Offline Access in the Xakia MCP Connector to see how offline access works.
Use Xakia in a chat
Type @, select Xakia, then ask your question. For example: “Which of my open matters have key dates due in the next two weeks?”
What you’ll see
The connector shows as connected under Custom apps in Settings › Connected Apps. You only see information you can already see in Xakia, and the connector is read-only, so it can’t create, change or delete anything.
Read the Xakia MCP Connector privacy notice to see how your data is handled.
